Classes and Workshops

Classes and Workshops are offered for children of all ages at The Brick Show Shop. We are a family owned authorized LEGO retailer. We sell retired sets, custom sets, minifigures, and many more brick inspired toys. 

Playing with LEGO bricks facilitates learning across a wide spectrum of cognitive, physical, and social skills often summarized as learning through play. All of our classes and/or workshops include multiple of the skills listed below. 

These skills are central to LEGO Education and are often used in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) learning.

Cognitive & Academic Skills
  • Problem-solving: Figuring out how to connect pieces to bring ideas to life or fixing a structure that topples.
  • Spatial Awareness: Understanding how shapes, sizes, and colors fit together in three-dimensional space.
  • Engineering: Learning structural integrity, balance, and stability.
  • Mathematics: Sorting, counting, recognizing patterns, understanding symmetry, and introducing fractions.
  • Coding/Sequencing: Following instructions and understanding basic logic.
  • Literacy: Storytelling, building narratives, and expanding vocabulary by describing creations.   
Creativity & Design
  • Imagination: Developing new ideas and building whatever can be imagined.
  • Innovation: Creating unique solutions and original designs.
  • Artistic Expression: Using bricks as a medium for visual art and design.
Physical Development
  • Fine Motor Skills: Developing dexterity and strength in fingers and hands through assembling and disassembling bricks.
  • Hand-eye Coordination: Improving precision in movement.
Social & Emotional Growth
  • Collaboration: Working together in teams to achieve a common goal.
  • Communication: Giving and receiving feedback and discussing ideas.
  • Perseverance: Learning to handle frustration and keep trying until the build is finished.
  • Patience: Managing emotions and taking time to achieve results.
  • Confidence: Gaining a sense of accomplishment and pride.
